Transform boring and dull to stylish and chick… Beaded Curtains

The following post is sort of a continuation of the previous one on Feng Shui… You probably wonder how that happened so I am going to tell you. I got so excited about the topic of improving the energy flow in my home that I spent good few hours doing the research and no work in regards to “home improvements”! I bet you know how easily that can happen… So, I have learnt a lot, without a doubt, and found many great websites and ideas related to Feng Shui and how to avoid overspending in the process. I am going to share them with you gradually, so you don’t get overwhelmed with the amount of information…

Beaded curtains are mostly associated with retro décor however nowadays newer designs and modernised versions bring beaded curtains back into life. They have been around for hundreds of years and their evolution seems to be unstoppable.

I remember them from when I was a child…we used to have those chunky, wooden beaded curtains in the doorway. They have been both very entertaining to small children, who tended to chew on them, and very annoying for others, especially when you were trying to pass through the doorway with some heavy or any load in your arms  and as a result a simple action became a challenging process!  Surprisingly nobody ever dared to take them down…

As I mentioned above, beaded curtains are famously installed in the doorways what divides two spaces adding softness along with decorative feel.  In addition to that beaded curtains, as perceived by Feng Shui philosophy, help to capture positive energy as they minimize the air flow between spaces. Also the swishing sound that beaded curtains make when someone passes through them is believed to have soothing effect.

Beaded curtains are very simple to make however the process is very time consuming therefore it is worth while to browse for deals and ideas... this website has got loads of designs at reasonable price http://www.shopwildthings.com/

Feng Shui… Help!

Very little has happened in here over the last week as I was out enjoying my holiday, a little bit too much I must say. But no worries, Feng Shui is here to help! I am no longer going to talk about the delightful taste of chocolate but on how to increase the numbers on your bank account! I know you are smiling now… the following article gives eight simple tips on how to achieve it and I am, most definitely, going to give it a try.

I am going to declutter all back left corners in my house, fix all things that are broken and introduce more green and purple into the “money areas”. I hope it all works… but if not then at least my house is going to look nice and that’s a positive outcome!

NO MORE CLUTTER!

Let me know if you ever attempted Feng Shui in your life… if not then start decluttering those left corners or the kitty is going to get you!

Simply Chocolate

I went shopping yesterday and I found these “cool” keyrings. One of them, in particular, caught my eye as I am a chocolate lover but still love to do sports…

Would you agree with the keyring and tick the 3rd option? Because I am still indecisive…

Key facts about chocolate:
1. Most of all chocolate is one of the most indulging sweets available… (I think). But to avoid being subjective, the research shows that with the moment we bite into chocolate our bodies release Endorphins that boost both our cardiovascular and mental health.
2. Flavanols: are the plant molecules present in chocolate that have a series of health benefits including high blood pressure reduction which simultaneously decreases the risk of heart attack!
3. LOVE: A quote that defines what chocolate does to you!“Melting sensuously on the tongue, it creates the most delightful sensations, intriguingly embracing one with intense feeling of love and being loved”- I bet you all have experienced that feeling!

 HOT CHOCOLATE... yummm

Coffee and chocolate are almost inseparable and are a great combination for dessert... here is our design representing the subject...

Check our websites for ideas!
A selection of your favourite family pictures can be transferred onto our ceramic mats, which look like on the photo below... these have fruit motives on but the design can be tailored to Your needs.

Family posters above a mantelpiece or for the brave ones... body art...brings drama into the room... These are only ideas but can be very simply executed!

Your home and your personality: match made in heaven.

In the previous post I have mentioned choosing a wall sticker so it matches the interior of your home and your personality. How important is it for you to exaggerate your personality throughout your house/flat? Are you aware of your personal style? I found this short test  http://www.sofeminine.co.uk/mag/psycho/d4245/x23083.html   that gives you a general idea about your style, personality and (only for ladies) “The ideal man to share your nest with” , which is quite interesting… but I guess, we all can take something out of it.

Are you more traditional or like to take risks with the design? Which basically means that you are either a risk taker or a safe player. An interior designer, Chris Bicknell, stated that “Your ‘space’ should be an extension of your personality” (2006). I believe he is right, we should create space that suits us and makes us feel comfortable.
